If you do need help in changing a Will, there are two ways of doing so:
A Codicil for changing a Will – is that a good idea?
If the changes to the Last Will are simple, and you haven’t previously had a codicil made, this is a cheap way of changing a Will. You might want to change executors (get rid of that expensive solicitor or bank!) or change a gift for example. The codicil must be kept WITH but not attached to the Last Will – or you will invalidate it! We strongly recommend that codicils are VERY simple and non contentious. Should you need a second one then:
Changing a Will – multiple or big changes:
Write a brand NEW Last Will and Testament – with our Peace of Mind Service this generally costs less than most firms would charge for a simple Codicil – and a new Will is always preferable so you could join the Gold Peace of Mind Service which gives your a new last will at no extra cost if you need straight forward amendments. A proper review is better when changing a Will, as some of the background Tax, Legal and Family issues just may have changed, and not checking that out could cause problems.
